Jardim do Tabaco Quay

Construction of a cruisers terminal with an overall extension of 675 m. The works to be executed in two phases comprise:

• Rehabilitation of the existing quay.
• Construction of a new structure (made of armed concrete cast in situ piles (Ø=1,00 m) and armed concrete slab) with a width of 45 m in order to reach the deeper operation depths necessary for the large cruisers.
• Improvement of the soils geotechnical characteristics by using geo-textiles.
• Construction of a rock fill protection prism in the face of the quay.
• Reconstruction of the rock fill and filter in the back of the quay, in order to avoid the settlements of the earth fill.
• Utilities infrastructures.

In the second phase, the work took place in a front of 475 m, and in addition to the execution of reinforcement and enlargement of the existing pier, was awarded the landfill Dock Terreiro do Trigo.
