Chokwé Centre for Training and Demonstration of Aquaculture

This Centre aims to promote and develop the aquaculture sector in Mozambique, acting as a model for pisciculture and fish production activities.

The Chokwé Centre for Training and Demonstration of Aquaculture will include:

• 22 ponds (for breeding, nursery/laboratory and growth);
• 1 sedimentation pond, and
• 6 Buildings for Administrative Services, Warehouses, Pumping Equipment, Incubation Centre and Hapas-type Cages Warehouse.

The design of the hydraulic water supply and drainage network of Chokwé Centre included:

• Water catchment structure in a channel from Limpopo River;
• Raw water treatment;
• Trapezoidal channels and concrete pipeline network to supply water to the installation;
• Trapezoidal channels and concrete collectors network for drainage;
• Wastewater treatment;
• Access and internal circulation infrastructures.
